About RD Montgomery

RD was saved in his parent’s living room at the age of six.  He was raised in Baptist churches and received a healthy dose of legalistic thinking.  RD says that he knew it was wrong for everyone else, but it seemed fitting to him that he needed to dodge God’s angry fireballs when he sinned.

As an early teen, a seed of curiosity was planted when he was told that some of the churches they passed by believed in different things.  He began questioning: "How do I know what I am told to believe is true?" This question started it all.  In the prehistoric days before the internet, his research arsenal was his first adult KJV Bible and a stack of books from his parents’ bookshelves.

Not long after, RD received a divine calling to serve as a counselor in the Body of Christ. Rather than establishing a conventional counseling business, he places his trust in God to orchestrate his appointments. These encounters have taken place in a variety of settings, ranging from the comfort of a living room couch to the unexpected confines of a cop’s car or the bustling soup aisle of a grocery store. This approach also leads him to study and rely on the Holy Spirit  for a wide range of issues or questions, as he is always uncertain about the who, what, when, or where of his next appointment.

“There is only one type of ministry.  It is loving people and seeing to their physical, mental, and spiritual needs.  Sometimes, that is things like food, medicine, shelter, safety, money, community, and hope.  The rest of the time, it is truth.” – RD Montgomery

RD learned that believing even the smallest lie can lead to disaster. To be an instrument of the truth, he has spent years questioning, disputing, and verifying.

“The so-called truths of this world never hold up to scrutiny.” -RD Montgomery

He is always armed with a quiver of questions. He fires them at lies, hoping the hearer will either arrive at the truth or be prepared to hear it.

“Truth must have a standard that exists outside of humanity, or it is just another opinion.” – RD Montgomery

RD hates the ideas of personal truths and moral relativism.  He believes that while they are professed as more ways to be free, they do nothing but trap and destroy.  He says that the Bible in context takes most of the confusion and guesswork out of the equation, and the part it doesn’t clear up is because we need to know it better.
